At the invitation by the National Human Rights Commission of Indonesia, on behalf of AICHR, Commissioner of Myanmar National Human Rights Commission, Dr. Nyan Zaw participated in the workshop on Post Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and Human Rights, held in Jakarta, Indonesia from 11 December 2013 to 12 December 2013.
The representation from ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights Staff Members from ASEAN National Human Rights Commission, Governmental Officials from ASEAN Countries and CSOs from ASEAN Countries attended the workshop.
The grounds of discussions in the workshop are:
(a) Convergence of Millennium Development Goal (MDGs) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Processes
(b) Overview of how Human Rights based Approach has been applied in the implementation of MDG’s 2015 in ASEAN Member States.
(c) Role of Regional Organizations in Ensuring Post 2015 Human Rights based Approach Development Agenda.
(d) Translation Post 2015 Development Agenda and Human Rights in ASEAN.
(e) Measuring and Monitoring the Progress of Human Rights based Development Agenda Post 2015.
(f) Role of ASEAN Multi Stakeholders in Post 2015 Development Agenda.
Dr. Nyan Zaw participated as a moderator on Session IV and intervened in the discussion of eradication of poverty and targets, indicators for non-communicable diseases. ( Diabetes, Hypertension and Heart diseases).
